Barring the few easy to fix issues outlined here, our stay was pleasant and the villa is truly beautiful.
Pros: Beautiful villa located right next to the paddy fields. The space is clean and well maintained. We especially liked the floor-to-ceiling glass doors overlooking the pool, with greenery around that lets in plenty of natural light during the day. The bedrooms also have a skylight feature, where a small portion of the ceiling is glass. It was nice being able to see the sky at night. There were no privacy concerns, as the skylight comes with a retractable cover that can be closed if needed. There are three bathrooms in total and the bathroom downstairs was fairly spacious with a portion of it open to sky which was pretty cool.
Cons: A few easy-to-fix things that could have made our experience better: . Some basic kitchen essentials like salt, pepper, sugar, and a dish drying rack were missing. . There was a used coffee pod inside the coffee maker which was somewhat of a put off . The lock on the glass doors by the pool was faulty and wouldn't stay closed. We woke up to the door fully open one morning. While Bali is generally very safe this there were construction workers next door and we were a bit concerned from a security standpoint. . One evening, 100s of flying insects found their way into the villa (probably drawn to the lights). The bug spray can was nearly empty when we reached for it. The manager did arrange for new cans to be delivered though they didn't reach us for over an hour. It was a bit of an apocalyptic scene that evening. . The trash bin outside the villa wasn't cleared for our arrival, so when the small kitchen bin inside the villa was full, we had no way of getting rid of the trash until the staff was notified and cleaned out the bins the next day. They missed lining the kitchen bin after cleaning out, which made disposing any wet waste tricky. . The precise location of the villa is a bit hard to find on the maps. It's tucked away in a small lane off of the main road which was hard for the cab drivers and delivery persons to find. There were times we had to walk up to the mainroad but it's really just a very short walk so no problem unless you have mobility issues. . This one perhaps isn't truly a villa problem and Bali is a tropical island so you should expect to spot critters and reptiles, BUT there were an absurd number of lizards inside the house, especially on the ceiling of the living area. I counted 6 at least. While this didn't bother my family, as somebody who's petrified of lizards I found it hard to fully relax while sitting in the living area. . The bedrooms are a tad small.
