Pros: We stayed at The Amala Boutique Retreat for 4 nights in a honeymoon suite with a private pool (bed and breakfast) and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly warm, kind, and attentive, making us feel truly welcome from check-in to check-out. The accommodation is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully designed with great attention to detail. We loved the daily morning messages with Balinese words and meanings, as well as the hotel’s focus on environmental care. Bamboo Restaurant offers delicious food with friendly, professional service, and the wellness center is excellent – the massages were truly outstanding. The hotel also helped us organize excursions and provided a fantastic driver, Hendra, who was very kind, professional, and reliable. We would like to sincerely thank the entire team for making our stay so special, and we would happily return.

Amazing stay at Amala Retreat! 10/10 would stay again

Pros: Firstly the staff are incredible - so kind and helpful. Second, the breakfast was 10/10. You get three courses and two drinks, and the food is delicious. I especially liked the pancakes and wellness bowls. If I could have this breakfast every day for the rest of my life, I would be very happy! And third, of course the rooms were great too. I also liked the optional yoga & breathwork sessions. Really great sessions

Cons: The ONLY thing was the sound of the frogs at night (apparently it is only after a rainstorm). It sounds crazy but they were so loud that we thought it was an alarm to evacuate the hotel 😂 but I understand we are in a jungle environment so it is just natural

beautiful, tranquil setting. Staff amazing.

Pros: spa services were amazing inc a complimentary 15 min massage which could be upgraded. Sound therapy was out of this world as was the massages. Breakfast was perfect

Cons: shared pool area was small and the 2 loungers were not in the sun so sunbathing was impossible but not too far to walk to the beach. Going outside to the toilet and shower and getting eaten alive by mossies

Blissful stop-over

Pros: The staff & facilities provided were excellent - from almost every conceivable convenience in the room, to the amazing breakfast menu to being able to utilise a guest shower area late in the day due to our late flight. A beautiful setting.

Cons: Our room was on the left-hand side (walking in) so was unfortunately exposed to a little more road noise than would have been ideal.

Family run vibe, above expected service . Memorable staff

Pros: The standards are extremely high in everything they do from there communication to guests ,food, spa . This is a team achievement making this hotel very desirable, it has a family run vibe with ongoing attention to the guest experience. Fabulous hotel. Highly recommended

Cons: We had to move to another hotel in Ubud as part of our plans, they could learn so much from the Amala.

a dream vacation

Pros: stayed here for one week and it had been the most relaxing week of my life. the villas are beautiful, the food is great, and the staff always go above and beyond to keep you comfortable. the wellness centre offers spa treatments for good prices and the restaurant food menu is extensive. you’ll never get sick of breakfast because there’s so many choices to choose from! the floating brunch is also a must-try. the location is perfect, and close to many marts and restaurants, and starbucks is only a five minute walk away. the perfect place to stay for a dream vacation, i wouldn’t recommend to stay anywhere else in seminyak!

A quiet & beautiful space

Pros: We loved the villa - it was gorgeous, spacious, clean and beautiuful. The beds were very comfortable and we all enjoyed our stay there. OUr family said it was the nicest villa we have stayed in. The grounds of the whole retreat are absolutely stunning too. So beautiful. The gardens and all the areas of the whole place are obviosuly well cared for. Pools are clean too. Staff were all very friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

Cons: We didn't rate their restaurant. After a big day of travel to get to Seminyak, we decided to just stay at the villa and eat in the restaurant. Although the restaurant looked lovely and the service was great, the actual food was a let down. It also wasn't cheap and we were disappointed that we had chosen to eat here. There was no one else eating dinner in the restaurant that night either....maybe that should have given us a heads up. In saying this, they were lovely and brought out a cake for my husband's birthday to surprise him after dinner and the setting around the pool was divine....just the actual food was average, especially with so many amazing restaurants in Seminyak that we could have chosen to eat at.

Pros: The villas are gorgeous and everything is meticulously clean and taken care of. The staff is friendly, the spa divine, they even fixed for me a special offer for a baby with Dewa. I don’t give them an 11 because it’s not possible but they deserve it

Pros: Good location. Well maintained with security , well attended by staff . Spa was reasonably priced with good facilities. 3 bedroom villa was large with good house keeping and support is prompt, in Villa breakfast is highlight . Overall courteous staff

Cons: Looks like the villa would do with a in house hotel manager with discretion. Staff seem to follow rule book with cookie cutter answers without looking to provide solutions , can be defensive when breakfast orders are incorrect. Shower and water pressure was disappointing for a villa of that class. They need to reconfigure the water pipes which flow from the ground upwards rather than the from top. Thus pressure is weak. Pity. Otherwise overall the estate is well maintained
